It is promoted, in its differing structures, under various trademarks, including Vicodin, Anexsia, Dicodid, Hycodan (or blandly Hydromet), Hycomine, Lorcet, Lortab, Norco, Novahistex, Hydroco, Tussionex, Gentex, Vicoprofen, Xodol, Bekadid, Calmodid, Codinovo, Duodin, Kolikodol, Orthoxycol, Mercodinone, Synkonin, Norgan, and Hydrokon. Hydrocodone was initially integrated in Germany in 1920 and was endorsed by the FDA on 23 March 1943 available to be purchased in the United States under the brand name Hycodan.
